Welcome to our Velos Software Version End-of-Life (EOL) Information Page. This page explains when Velos software versions reach End-of-life (EOL) and what this means for your installation.
As no new software will be released for VP8001, a VP8001 cannot be updated beyond Velos version 2024.1.SR11a. As of September 1, the online services for this version will be discontinued [3], which means the online services for the VP8001 will also be terminated. To retain access to online services and continue receiving software updates, a hardware upgrade to the VP8002 is required. The VP8001 will continue to operate locally, but without online services. However, after the end-of-life date, support for these systems is no longer guaranteed.
As of September 1, the online services for Velos version 2024.1.SR11a will be discontinued [3]. A VP8002 can be updated to a higher version. Therefore, upgrade your VP8002 before September 1 to retain access to online services.

Depending on your current version, you may need to perform intermediate update steps to upgrade to the latest version. To streamline the upgrade process, first update the Velos system to the latest version. After that, update the firmware of the V-Packs.
Please be aware that even after updating to the latest version, the banner in the Velos user interface prompting you to update might still be visible for a short period. This banner will disappear once our central server receives the updated version information, which is transmitted at 30-minute intervals.

After this date, this version will no longer receive bug fixes or security updates.
To protect customer data and system security, online services are only available for versions receiving security updates. Versions that no longer receive security updates may expose your system to security risks. Therefore, the online services will end for these installations. Impact for these installations:
The online services end date is planned. However, in case of critical security vulnerabilities, online services may be suspended earlier to protect customer installations.
After this date, this version is no longer supported by Nedap Livestock. Support for older versions will often mean upgrading an installation to the latest version. After this date, upgrading may require additional steps or hardware replacement and cannot always be guaranteed.
The VP8001 hardware has reached the end of its technological lifecycle. Velos 2024.1.SR11a is the last version that supports the VP8001. Installations using VP8001 hardware cannot upgrade beyond this version.
From 1 September 2026, all installations running Velos 2024.1.SR11a or older (both VP8001 and VP8002) will lose access to online services. The system will continue to operate locally (offline mode). We strongly recommend planning hardware replacement well before September 2026.
Velos 2024.1.SR100 is the first version that no longer supports the VP8001 hardware. Velos 2024.1 LTS will continue to be maintained for specific components listed below. Installations using one or more of these components cannot upgrade to later major releases:
