The Kealy farm, powered by Nedap

Through implementing Nedap technology on the farm, Jamie Kealy has been able to spend more quality time with his family. Not only that but Kealy has been able to be away from the farm, but yet still close due to the insights given to him about the herd.

“It's a game changer”

Heat detection

Prior to having heat detection on the farm, Kealy tells that he would “drive back religiously to the farm every night and spend an hour on the farm”. He further goes on to explain that this would take away from the time that he could spend together with his family because they live 10KM away. Through implementing the technology it has helped the farm develop and get to where they are today.

Health monitoring

Keeping an eye on the health of the herd may seem like a challenge, but as Kealy mentions, “we’ve halved our veterinary bills I’d say since we put in the system because we’re picking up cows before they get sick”. Not only does Kealy feel that the working collars are giving him a peace of mind when he is not on the farm, it also feels as though they are more on top things through having the Nedap system around.

Feeling in control

By having Cow Control in place at the farm, Kealy and his family have been able to spend much more quality time together. As “you don’t have to be rushing back to the farm, all you have to do now is check your phone”. Kealy feels like with the technology he is much more in control even though he is not always there.
